ISSUES
ISSUES
Southfield's taxes are among the highest in Oakland County. While they may be comparable to those in other cities like Farmington/Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Royal Oak, and Troy, Southfield falls short in providing essential community amenities, and infrastructure.
Essential Community Amenities
a swimming pool (bring back the pool!)
a senior center
a vibrant walkable downtown with mixed-use businesses
sufficient large-scale supermarket options
Strengthen Infrastructure
city hall and municipal center are outdated and crumbling
frequent issues with community basement sewer backups
water backups at various apartment buildings and multifamily units
Leadership Accountability
restore trust, transparency and equity
amplify the voices and concerns of Southfield residents
ensure fair code enforcement
address and support homeowners' and renters' rights
Southfield residents want a community that offers more to come home to, not one over-saturated by marijuana dispensaries, liquor stores, gas stations, car washes, check-cashing services, and dollar stores.
I want to bring leadership that engages and collaborates on behalf of the people in the city's planning and economic development to help set a clear vision that attracts, develops, and sustains opportunities so that Southfield residents can truly live, play, entertain, and work--in the center of it all!
Our city is ready for a new voice, a new vision and a new direction.
